Photos by me

Visiting Budapest again (this time together with three close friends of mine instead of my family) was a blast. Since we stayed in the Hungarian capital for almost a week we had the chance to discover new corners of the city which I had totally missed during my last visit, like for example the Great Market Hall. As you can probably guess from the photos I took, the Buda Castle was my absolute favourite spot in the city - especially the Fisherman's Bastion and colourful streets were so enchanting and incredibly photogenic! Next to sightseeing we (of course) also ate a lot of ice cream and tasty food - speaking of which you can read about some of my favourite restaurants and ice cream parlors below. Love, Anne

Millennium da Pippo Andrássy út 76
In case you're not the biggest fan of Hungarian local food (like me) this Italian restaurant will be your salvation during your stay in Budapest. The restaurant is completely decorated in Italian style and they serve some of the best Italian antipasti, pizza and pasta. Millennium da Pippo was located just around the corner of our Budapest residence and we even ate here four (!) times during our one week stay because we loved the food and ambiance so much.

The Big Fish Andrássy út 44
The Big Fish is a bit more expensive than average in Budapest but they serve some really excellent seafood dishes - you can even make your own selection out of a wide range of fish at the bar which they'll specially prepare for you in their kitchen. During our one time visit I tried their salmon burger and I must truly say this was the most tasty one I've ever had.

Levendula Rákóczi út 25
If you're craving some excellent ice cream you should definitely go here for the best flavours - they also serve a lot of extraordinary flavours, of which the lavender ice cream was one of my favourites.

Fragola Nagymezo u. 7
Another great ice cream parlour (especially loved their cinnamon ice cream) which offers both creative and classic ice cream flavours. Fragola is based on several locations all over the city which makes it a lot easier to find one close to your residence.
