While staying in Fez we decided to do a day trip to Chefchaouen, which is also called ‘The Blue Pearl’. Not hard to see where this name comes from, as the whole village (or at least the old medina) is painted in different shades of blue. I wanted to visit this place for a while now, so I was really glad when we decided to do this day trip. When we arrived it was exactly as I imagined it would be, everywhere we walked, the doors, walls and even the ground sometimes were painted in different shades of blue – it created a magical and special effect, I loved it! The old medina isn’t that big, so one day could be enough to explore this blue city, although I would recommend to stay here at least one night so you have more time to explore this beautiful city! Make sure not to miss Chefchaouen when planning your vacation to Morocco – definitely a must see!
