Before heading to Fez, I didn't really had any expectations about the city, but I must say that Fez got me in a really good way - I loved it. Fez is the second largest city of Morocco and quite famous for its medina, since it's the biggest one in Morocco. The medina is the old city of Fez, find yourself wandering through the old, narrow streets and souks that the medina has to offer. Prepare yourself to get lost in the medina though- because its a real maze. Although Fez can be quite exhausting sometimes, I loved to walk around and admire the beautiful things and history the medina has to offer. I especially loved the following places:

Bou Inania Medersa Talaa Sghira, Fez
This is an old Coran school, and located close to the blue gate. The entry is 200 dirhams, but the inside is really beautiful (although not that big). What I also liked about this place, is that you are able to see the old rooms of the students who used to live here when it was a school - interesting to see!

Attarin Medersa Boutouil Kairaouine, Fez
In love with this place! I especially loved the green tiles and the checkered floor of the Attarin Medersa. It looks a bit the same as the Bou Inania Medersa, but both are definitely worth a visit!

Royal Palace of Fez Avenue Omar Ibnou Khattab, Fez
Unfortunately you can't visit the Royal Palace from the inside, but you can admire the beautiful entry of the palace with its famous golden doors from the outside. I loved it!

Jewish Quarter Mellah, Fez
After you admired the pretty doors of the Royal Palace, head to the Jewish Quarter, which is next to the Royal Palace. The atmosphere is kind of different than in the medina of Fez since there are hardly any tourists here, but that was what I liked about it - something different. It is probably best to take a guide who shows you around and tell you about the history of the Jews in Fez -  and a guide also makes sure you won't get lost (like we did a couple of times). This part of Fez is worth a quick stop if you're in the area.

Tombe dei Merenidi Nella Zona a Nord della Medina, Fez
This old tomb is located on a hill next to the medina of Fez. The tomb itself is not that special, but the view you have from this point is really pretty! Especially in the morning, or just before the sundown! Make sure you're back in the city before it's dark though, as there were some accidents in the past at that place at night (robberies for example).
