Last weekend my boyfriend and I headed for beautiful Paris again. One little difference: 30 degrees celcius (less I mean of course) - we were literally freezing our buts off from time to time. Luckily we had the pleasure to stay in the warm and atmospheric Saint Paul Rive Gauche boutique hotel right in the middle of the city centre.

We stayed in a cosy room with a nice bath (which was so welcome because of the cold), comfortable bed and a cute flower print all over the wall which reminded us of summer. The furniture fitted perfectly in the old but chique style of the hotel. The building has its own interesting history and when entering it kinda felt like we travelled back in time. For example the breakfast room - which is based in the basement - used to be a hiding spot for the bombings during world war II. Saint Paul Rive Gauche is family run, which you can feel in the way the people from the hotel treat you: in a very warm, relaxed and welcomed way. The staff offers great service and the rooms are very clean and tidy. Also the kind owner, Marianne, gave us some useful advices and recommendations regarding the city.

Breakfast was one of our favourite things about our stay at Saint Paul Rive Gauche. Think of freshly baked croissants, the typical French baguette, cinnamon buns, sweet pastries, yoghurt with fruits, muesli, cooked eggs et cetera. So you can imagine waking up wasn't so hard with such a delicious meal in prospect. What we also loved was the location of the hotel. It was a perfect spot to see most of the highlights of the city by foot. For example the stunning Notting Hill Cathedral is only a ten minute walk away and Jardin du Luxembourgh is practically the backyard of the hotel.

So, if you are looking for an atmospheric, unique place to stay during your visit to Paris we would definitely recommend Saint Paul Rive Gauche. You will feel at home instantly!

Love, Anne
