Dubrovnik was the absolute highlight of our roadtrip through Croatia last summer. Its probably not hard to see why we loved it so much when you look at the above pictures we took. The city was such a fairytale with all of its staircases, small alleys, cute terraces, atmospheric harbour and impressive buildings and city wall. Especially the views from on top of the city wall were breathtaking (so make sure to visit!), and in the late afternoon light Dubrovnik even got a magical glow. Although the old town can get enormously touristy during the day (after 9 AM the busses with tourist crowds just keep on arriving), we managed to avoid the crowds most of the time. Because our apartment was in the middle of the old centre, we were able to explore Dubrovnik during the early mornings before the crowds arrived. This was so special and waking up early was all worth it because we got the city almost completely to ourselves! And as soon as it became crowded we just starting relaxing at the seaside or went for breakfast or a well deserved morning coffee. Speaking of which, we also have a few recommendations left regarding where to get good food or ice cream in Dubrovnik:

Kamenice Gunduliceva Poljana 8
Loved this one! Kamenice is located in the heart of the old centre, and therefore the ideal place to have a lovely dinner while watching the crowds passing by. Besides the amazing location, the food (they have a great selection of seafood) is also really tasty!

Dolce Vita Naljeshkoviceva 1a
Our favourite ice cream shop in Dubrovnik! Situated in a small alley in the old town, this ice cream shop serves some delicious ice cream. The perfect place to escape the busy streets of Dubrovnik while enjoying a cool treat during the day!

Oliva Pizzeria Lucarica 5
This popular pizzeria is the ideal place to enjoy a good Italian pizza, whether in the restaurant itself or  simply for take-away. We decided to order some take-away pizza, and enjoyed our food while sitting at the seaside of Dubrovnik's old centre - accompanied with some fabulous sunset views!
