INTERIOR DREAM AT RIAD Z

Before visiting Marrakech last month I saw some photos of Riad Z (which is quite new in the Marrakech Kasbah) and fell in love with its beautiful interior instantly. Therefore I was super happy to be able to spent a night here. To avoid any problems my boyfriend and I requested the riad staff to arrange a transfer for us from Marrakech airport, which resulted in a smooth and carefree arrival (would really recommend this, since the airport can be quite chaotic and overwhelming). As soon as we arrived to Riad Z the sweet staff welcomed us as if we just entered their home and offered us a cup of (sweet) Moroccan mint tea. After finishing our tea we explored the riad a bit and got to enjoy the sun on the pretty rooftop terrace. What I love the most about Riad Z is its pretty photogenic courtyard with relaxing chairs, berber pillows, the cutest swimming pool ever and fun interior design details (some of them you can actually buy in the Marrakech souks in case you're interested). The whole place is actually a bit of a combination of traditional Moroccan style and modern design - love it!
Because it was raining and storming all afternoon we decided to hide from the bad weather at Zwin Zwin Cafe (which happens to be from the same owner as Riad Z) and had some of the best food here: homemade samosa's, goat cheese pastilla, chicken wraps, sardines and fresh juices. It was all soooo good. Normally the restaurant has a cool rooftop terrace with stunning views all over Marrakech (including palm trees), so in case you've more luck with the weather make sure to visit because its such an atmospheric dinner or lunch spot!
After we had spent the whole afternoon at Zwin Zwin we managed to get back to the riad without getting wet, and went to bed early afterwards because of the continuing thunder storms. Next morning's breakfast was very tasty and sweet (Moroccan style): think of scrambled eggs, yoghurt, fresh fruit juice, granola, sweet pastries, fruits and of course: mint tea. To conclude we had an amazing stay at Riad Z because of its relaxing atmosphere, beautiful interior and caring staff. Thanks again for taking such good care of us!
